Board Member Expectations and Consequences
It is crucial to understand that this is not a ceremonial position, and board members must approach this role with a high level of dedication, professionalism, and integrity. If you are not fully committed to raising the required funds, attending meetings, and actively contributing to the success of The Balance, this may not be the right position for you. We rely on the dedication and efforts of our board members to drive our mission forward, and we expect all members to adhere to these strict guidelines.
Removal from the Board
If the outlined expectations and responsibilities are not met, removal from the board will occur. Additionally, if you are removed from the board, you will not be eligible to be added back onto the board in the future.
Additional Details
Being a board member provides you with the opportunity to offer valuable input on the various aspects of how The Balance operates. However, it is important to note that senior leadership members, including the Organizational President, Clerk/Secretary, Treasurer, CEOs, CFOs, and COOs, retain the right to make final decisions for the organization. These leaders can override group votes through unanimous agreement in private meetings among the leadership team, where not all board members are required to be present. This structure ensures that key decisions are made with the expertise and authority necessary to guide The Balance effectively while still valuing the input of all board members.
